Streator ambulance service says financial proposal coming within the month

STREATOR – The vice president for Advanced Medical Transport says a written proposal of financial support is on its way to Streator officials. According to VP Tim Beccue, AMT plans to have a proposal presented to the city of Streator within the month, but could come as soon as next week. On Tuesday, City Manager Dave Plyman gave an update on negotiations with AMT, stating that the city has until June to decide if they want to financially support the private ambulance service or look elsewhere.
Plyman says AMT could be seeking an annual payment from $300,000 to $500,000. Beccue confirmed this and says he views the situation as a fluid discussion, up for negotiation.
According to Beccue, Streator is the only city with no multi-year agreement in place. AMT has received financial support from other cities. If Streator decides to take a different route on ambulance services, AMT will still service the city until October. AMT has provided service to the city since 2004.
