11-year-old saves child from drowning

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for August 27th:
Eli Harrison of North Yorkshire was with his family for a trip to the sea when he noticed a little boy floating about 30 feet from the shore.
The 11-year-old didn’t waste a minute. He leapt off the pier and used a small fishing boat to rescue the boy from drowning.
Harrison’s mom, Kaleigh, was trying to help her husband, Ian, take off his bag in order to go in and rescue the boy himself. But in that precious time, Eli made the move to save the boy himself.
“They were packing up, they’d turned their back for just a split second but that’s all it takes”, Kayleigh said.
You never know how you’re going to react to a calamitous situation until you’re in that situation yourself. When time is of the essence and urgency is needed, you’ll know in those moments what your instincts tell you. Thanks to the actions of an 11-year-old and some quick-thinking, the boy is expected to make a full recovery.
