Streator Fire Department rescue dog from sinkhole


STREATOR – A dog who had been missing since Friday was discovered trapped in a sinkhole in Streator. The Streator Fire Department were called Saturday morning around 7 AM to Marilla Park to rescue the dog named Macy who had been missing since Friday morning. Authorities were able to pull the dog from the sinkhole in a dramatic rescue captured and shared on video by the Streator Fire Department. Macy was taken to an area veterinary clinic and was reportedly in good shape. The dog had gone missing after a visit to the park Friday and was unable to be located by the owner. Saturday morning family members continued searching for the dog and heard barking, locating the sinkhole near the middle of Marilla Park. The sinkhole has been blocked off by public works.
