Local counties all under a 5% unemployment rate


 
UNDATED – Local county unemployment rates continue to fall in the month of October, according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security. LaSalle, Putnam, and Bureau counties are all averaging unemployment rates under 5%. Statewide unemployment is dwindling down as well, at a solid 6%, almost a percentage lower than last month. Currently, LaSalle is the highest in unemployment at 4.5%, and both Bureau and Putnam County are averaging around 3.7 and 3.8%.
