Grants for wildlife projects in Bureau and Marshall County

SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) announced the approval of more than 2.1 million in grants for 17 wildlife habitats project including Bureau and Marshall County. The grants are funded through the Illinois Habitat Fund Special Wildlife Funds Grant Program, enhancing game and non-game wildlife habitat through projects developed by not-for-profit organizations and governmental entities. Nearly 100,000 dollars was awarded with the grantee providing $30,000 in matching funds to local land owners in Bureau and Marshall through the Quail and Upland Game Alliance Organization. The project that’s partners with the USDA to funds local landowners for their voluntary enrollment in the federal State Acres for Wildlife (SAFE) program as part of the USDA Conservation Reserve Program.
