SYCAMORE – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is alerting citizens of home repair scams returning to the area, and have been able to identify an alleged suspect’s vehicle. According to authorities, victims report a white GMC or Chevrolet truck with a seal coating tank in the back. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office say the scammers may approach a victim at their residence offering to sealcoat a driveway at a bargain rate. The scammer may then either change price of the shoddy repair, or create a distraction while others enter the home to commit a theft. The Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to be very wary of unsolicited offers for home repair.
