MENDOTA – A family dinner at Christmas is a tradition that some may not be able to afford due to the ongoing pandemic. The First Presbyterian Church in Mendota will be giving away 70 complete family meal kits this evening from 6 PM – 8 PM in their parking lot. Pastor Susan Presley said that they had 32 generous sponsors who helped make sure they could offer these to the community for the second straight year. Around 20 volunteers helped assemble the kits, each with all the sides and turkey or ham. There is no sign up or registration required, first come first serve, and they ask that you wear a mask during the contactless pickup. Presley noted that they want to make sure nobody goes without a wonderful Christmas dinner this year.
