MARSEILLES – A battery fire that occurred Monday in Marseilles is contained and authorities say there’s no immediate danger to the public. The Marseilles Fire Department was called before the afternoon for a battery fire located west of the LaSalle Generating Station. The LaSalle County Emergency Management Agency says the scene will remain active but are reassuring that there is no threat and the fire is a different kind of fire than what occurred in Morris. As precautionary measures, officials say the Illinois Environment Protection Agency is conducting air sampling.
