NEPONSET – A Neponset man was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday in Bureau County. Bureau County Sheriff James Reed said they were called around 9:15 PM to US Route 34 near Neponset, where they found 53-year-old Terry Gutschlag of Neponset deceased in the roadway. After an investigation, it was determined an SUV driven by a 71-year-old Kewanee woman allegedly struck the man. The incident remains under investigation by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police Accident Reconstructionist and the Bureau County Coroner.
