Man throws away $100,000 lottery ticket; retrieves it just in time

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for February 11th:
A South Carolina man is lucky to have second guessed himself after initially throwing away a $100,000 WINNING lottery ticket. The man thought he lost after seeing the winning numbers, but it turns out, those were the numbers from the day before. Thankfully, the man realized his costly mistake and was able to retrieve and cash the ticket.
The winner said that he now plans to give the money to charity as well as set up a college fund for his grandchildren. It’s heartwarming to see he’s planning on being selfless with his winnings too.
What a close call, though. With my luck, I would’ve never been able to find the ticket after throwing it away.
Pro-tip: It’s not a bad idea to let a friend/relative check your ticket before you pitch it. Better safe than sorry.
