PERU – Carus LLC has finished transferring all Tier II chemical materials out of its Apollo warehouse in LaSalle and into its facility in Ottawa. According to Carus, the completion was part of a plan launched in the spring of last year. Allen Gibbs, Vice President of Operations at Carus says, delivering on this promise is an important milestone in our relationship with the community and will remain committed to working with neighbors to share and protect resources in LaSalle, as well as providing peace of mind. Carus Chemical reported to LaSalle city officials that they planned to remove all materials from the warehouse within two weeks time after residents spoke out about what was being stored there. Carus says they also upgraded the Apollo Warehouse safety and security. The warehouse is located at the east end of Porter Avenue in LaSalle.
