A 13-year-old boy in Australia is being hailed a hero after making a “superhuman” swim to save his family.  He was in a kayak, and his mom and two siblings were on paddleboards.  The wind blew them out to sea last Friday.

He tried paddling back to the beach to get help, but his kayak took on water and sunk.  So then he swam for FOUR HOURS.

They say he swam about 2.5 miles.  He had a life jacket on, but ditched it halfway through because it was slowing him down.  His family was over eight miles out when rescuers found them.  Thanks to him, they’re all okay.
