A wildlife photographer named Shawn Miller is in the news for helping out some crustaceans. He looks for hermit crabs using trash as their home . . . things like bottlecaps and PVC pipes. And he offers them actual shells instead.
He started a project called Make the Switch 4 Nature, where people donate shells that he leaves in areas hermit crabs live in. He’s helped rehome hundreds of crabs, and picked up a whole lot of trash along the way.
