PERU – The LaSalle County Circuit Clerk is offering the Peru Police Department financial support to take part in using a citation software system. Clerk Gregg Vaccaro is offering the city $12,000 to trial the digiTICKET software for 60 days. He says the Illinois State Police and ten LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department squad cars are currently using the program that also captures ID photos, GPS mapping, and enhanced reporting.
An upcoming feature of the program will allow officers to upload the ticket from their squad car straight to the county’s system. Vaccaro says the county will be able to offer the program to at least one police department a year through funds awarded by the state.
