Health Department encourages smokers to quit on World No Tobacco Day

OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Health Department would like to encourage smokers to quit the habit for World No Tobacco Day. They say smoking is the most preventable cause of death in the United States today. Over 400,000 deaths annually in the U.S. are directly related to smoking. The tobacco industry addicts more than 2,000 youth everyday and one in three of them will die prematurely because of tobacco.
