LASALLE – A LaSalle man is dead after what authorities describe as a fatal hit and run on Sunday. The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office say they were called around 4 PM to Illinois Route 351 near the canal entrance south of LaSalle, where 45-year-old Carl J. Telford was struck. Telford, who was riding an electric bicycle, was taken to a Rockford hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. Witnesses described the vehicle as a late 90’s, white Cadillac Escalade with a yellow temporary registration plate. The Sheriff’s Office notes the vehicle may be missing its passenger side mirror.
