Caseworker adopts 19-year-old foster child just in time for Mother’s Day

About six years ago, Leah Peskaledis met Monyay and formed a close bond. Leah was Monyay’s caseworker.
Leah wanted to adopt Monyay, but she was unable to until she aged out of the foster care system. Now, that day has finally become and 19-year-old Monyay now has the mom she’s always wanted.
“Everything is official, the one thing that I wanted since I was a kid has finally come true,” Monyay told WTEN.
“I made her a promise that I would find her an adoptive family. I just didn’t know that I would be the adoptive family,” said new mom Leah.
Just in time for Mother’s Day: a beautiful story.
