SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health Sunday announced 867 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois, including 43 additional confirmed deaths, with only one reported from outside Chicagoland. Since the pandemic began, the IDPH is reporting a total of 127,757 cases, including 5,904 deaths. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 20,700 specimens for a total of 1,042,774 tests performed. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total tests given from May 31–June 6 is just 5%.
