Mother and daughter graduate med school together, both to start at same hospital

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for June 4th:
Cynthia Kudji and her daughter, Jasmine, both attended medical school at the same time, although in different areas: Cynthia went to the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts while her daughter went to Louisiana Statue University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
Today, they both not only have graduated, but on Match Day, they found out they’re both be working at LSU Health starting on July 1st.
“I think initially it was difficult because my mom and I have always been really close so I had to get used to the distance, we had to learn how to FaceTime and Skype each other, so we were Skyping each other every day and whenever I had struggles and she had struggles, we just had to learn to communicate from a distance,” Jasmine stated. “But I think over time we figured it out.”
This is an inspiring story; one that’s a bit parallel to the ongoing pandemic. Not to mention, it’s pretty encouraging to see you get yours, as a young person, and see your mother realize her dream as well. Tip of the (graduation) cap to both ladies!
