Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for May 20th:
Chelsea Phaire, a 10-year-old from Danbury, Connecticut, has spent the last several weeks constructing and mailing hundreds of art kits to kids in foster care homes and homeless shelters. The kits include markers, crayons, paper, coloring books, colored pencils, and gel pens, perfect for kids to use for crafts or to draw pictures.
This simple story is touching because it reminds you about those we perceive to be on the outskirts of society and how they’re grappling with a rapidly changing, difficult new reality. I love uplifting stories about foster kids, and the fact this little girl in Connecticut is taking time out of her life to go the extra mile for them is something that’s very inspiring for all of us.
