Neighborhood surprises birthday girl with dog parade

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for April 24th:
Elizabeth Guthrie’s parents wanted to give their three-year-old daughter an extra special birthday party despite social distancing restrictions. They decided a social distancing “dog parade” would be a lot of fun, so the family put a small lawn-sign in their front yard that explained the event, date, and time. The event started at 5pm, and by 5:15, there were 17 dogs and 41 people gathered in socially-distanced clusters on both sides of the street.
Elizabeth was overwhelmed with happiness seeing all the dogs, and so were her parents.
“I think everybody needed a pick-me-up, a little positivity,” Elizabeth’s mom, Mary, said. “This has been the biggest birthday of her life.”
