Cars line up to salute WWII veteran on his 101st birthday

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for April 15th:
World War II veteran Alan Cameron turned 101 on Sunday in Pearl River, New York. Due to strict social distancing guidelines, a conventional birthday celebration wasn’t feasible.
So the local police department decided to organize a mini-parade of sorts for Cameron, allowing cars to drive by his home with “Happy Birthday” signage and other decorations. Many even saluted the veteran as he looked outside his window and watch the cavalcade drive by.
“He’s amazing,” said Michael Finer, his neighbor for about 40 years. “They’re a different generation. He is an unbelievable gentleman.”
Living to 100 is an accomplishment in itself, and it’s awesome to see a community band together to give a veteran some love on his special day.
