Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for March 6th:
A Kindergarten student in Arkansas knew exactly what he was going to wear on “Dress as Your Favorite Person Day” at school.
Five-year-old Easton Blocker has taken a fascination with school security officer Jeffery Cross, often having conversations with Cross and referring to him as a friend and a hero. So for “Dress as Your Favorite Person Day,” Easton donned a bright yellow shirt with “JUNIOR SECURITY” written on the back and black pants to look like Officer Cross.
Easton frequently tells his mom, who helped him make the outfit, about Officer Cross and how he keeps people save. It’s also the first year Arkansas is having armed officers in schools.
“They had questions about why I was armed and I was just telling them, ‘I’m armed to protect them from someone bad who would come and hurt them,'” Officer Cross said.
You love the innocence of kids who look to people like Officer Cross as noble individuals that serve a community. It’s also nice to see kids finding role models within their own community.
Definitely check out the adorable photos of Easton and Cross together in their matching attire!
