As you grow up you think about the things you want to accomplish in you life. Things like Getting married, having kids, buying a house. Well it appears that those days are over. 61% of Americans polled in a new survey say that those milestones are no longer important to them.
Five things that we are okay with delaying or skipping over completely:
- Saving for retirement
- Getting married
- Having Kids
- Buying a house
- Getting Engaged
So what are the reasons that we are delaying or skipping over these.
Personal insecurities, not having financial stability, being with a partner who doesn’t prioritize those things, paying off student loans first, and our friends are delaying the same things so we don’t feel the pressure to do those things just to fit in.
Maybe I’m cut from a different cloth, but those are all things that I value and want to accomplish in my life. I believe you can have the best of both worlds. You can figure out how to raise a family and go after the career and life that you want. Maybe we should put the focus back to making these things more of a priority.
