OTTAWA – Parking restriction in Ottawa will be in effect on Monday through Thursday nights. No parking will be allowed from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. along LaSalle Street or Columbus Street from Superior Street to the Illinois River Bridge. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation the work consists of ADA sidewalk improvements and resurfacing on IL Route 23 from Freemont Street to McKinley Road. To minimize impact of on traffic north of the Illinois River, lane closures will be set up from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The first layer is asphalt will be in place beginning the week of May 20th. Once the asphalt work is completed sidewalk work will begin. Sidewalk work will take place during daytime hours and short-term lane closures can be expected. The sidewalk work is expected to take two months.
