Chicagoland Eclipsed in Covid Deaths by Downstate on Monday

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Public Health said Monday that five Illinoisans died due to complications from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.  Only one of the deaths came from the Chicagoland area, a woman in her 70s, while the other four deaths came from downstate, including one from the Quad Cities and two from the Illinois suburbs of St. Louis.  1,373 new infections were confirmed by the state.  Locally, 13 new cases were confirmed in LaSalle County, and 32 people have reported to have recovered since Sunday afternoon.
The Illinois deaths include:

  • Cook County: female 70s
  • Rock Island County: male 80s
  • Randolph County: female 80s
  • Madison County: 1 female 70s, 1 female 80s

35,930 tests in the past 24 hours, positivity rate of 3.6%.  Overall 262,744 cases, 8,314 deaths in 102 counties in Illinois.
 
In LaSalle County:
New cases 13. Total cases 1512
New Cases include:

  • Male, teens
  • Female, teens
  • Male, 20’s
  • Male, 30’s
  • (2) Males, 40’s
  • Female, 40’s
  • Male, 50’s
  • (3) Females, 50’s
  • (2) Males, 60’s

New Recovered Cases 32.  Total recovered cases 922.
