
MENDOTA – A woman was rescued from Lake Kakusha in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday. Around 3 AM authorities were called to the scene for the report of someone in the 53-acre lake near the boat ramps. Mendota Police and Fire located the individual wading about 50 feet off shore. Oglesby Fire Department’s Water Rescue Team and a boat from the Utica Fire Department were also called to assist, and the woman was taken to an area hospital for evaluation about two hours after the call came in.
