Friends Reunite to Save a Life

daily-dose-of-uplift-2

A former Major League pitcher named Steven Register is in the news because one of his old classmates came through for him in a big way.

He pitched for the Rockies and Phillies in 2008 and 2009.  Now he’s 42, and he’s been dealing with health issues.  He got diagnosed with stage four colon cancer and went through chemo, but it spread to his liver.  So he needed a transplant.

An old classmate named Kristin Johnston heard about it.  They hadn’t seen each other in 25 years, but she got tested . . . found out she was a match . . . and the surgery is happening next month.
