On Memorial Day last month, a woman in Louisiana met an Air Force vet named Dillon McCormick, who was working in 90-degree heat at age 90.
She saw him gathering carts in a Winn-Dixie parking lot and asked why he hadn’t retired yet. He said he couldn’t afford to. So she posted the footage online . . . started a GoFundMe trying to raise $30,000 to help him out . . . and people donated over 240 GRAND.
It hit $170,000 overnight, and she called to tell him the good news the next day . . . but he hung up, thinking she was a scammer. So she went to his place and told him in person.
He says he’s grateful to the more than 3,000 people who donated . . . but last we heard, he still hadn’t retired. He decided he doesn’t want to quite yet. But now he can whenever he’s ready.
