COAL CITY – Two people are reportedly dead after what authorities are calling a murder/suicide. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and the Grundy County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday they are investigating a shooting in the 2000 block of South Carbon Hill Road near Coal City. They say they were called Monday afternoon for a welfare check to the residence when the bodies of Gary E. Lissy JR and his wife Judy A. Lissy were discovered. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene that afternoon.The investigation is ongoing by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department and the Coroner’s Office.
