Women in Technology breaking the binary

From left to right: President Kiley Rosnes, Student Liaison for AWS, Amelia Stalter and Theresa Molln

OGLESBY – Illinois Valley Community College’s Women in Technology is a force to be reckoned with for those looking to pursue jobs in the industry. The recently established program strives to give ladies the opportunity to be exposed to and learn the fundamentals of welding, fabricating and engineering. The frontiers-women of the group believe in being surrounded by a support system, especially in a field where women are underrepresented. Student Liaison for the American Welding Society, Theresa Stalter says you don’t have to be enrolled at IVCC to take a class within the program. The Women in Technology will be showcasing some of their work at IVCC’s MIMIC Fair, Wednesday.
