MENDOTA – A 47-year-old man from West Chicago was shot in the leg with non-life threatening injuries on Saturday night in Mendota. The Mendota Police Department say the injury took place near 5th Avenue and 6th Street and was an isolated event unrelated to any other reported incidents. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the police department encourages the community to attend the festival, and attendees should not feel endangered over the recent isolated events.
