STREATOR – A Streator manufacturing plant’s temporary road to service a new employee parking lot is expected to be installed this year. The TIF funded Vactor Manufacturing project includes the installation of the roadway base for the west 1,000 ft of the proposed new industrial park road near Vactor and the relocation of a portion of the existing water-main that runs through the park. On Tuesday Streator’s City Council is expected to award the project to Tobey’s Construction for just over $385,000, nearly $90,000 less than estimated. According to City Engineer Jeremy Palm, the temporary road is to be installed by this year with construction of the new road to be completed next year.
