Two charged after meth investigation in Long Point

LONG POINT – Two people are in custody after an investigation into the possession and sales of methamphetamine in Livingston County. According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, over 41 grams of purported methamphetamine, heroin, and LSD were allegedly found in the possession of 37-year-old Jimmy Payton and 29-year-old Shelby Newell in Long Point. The two face multiple charges including Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine. The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team, the Streator Police Department, and the Livingston County State’s Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
