MENDOTA – A meeting to discuss a potential new Tax Incriment Finance District that encompasses much of the Mendota business areas was held Monday night. Over 500 vacant and improved properties are included in the project area. The funds that could potentially be raised would be used for improvements in the district. The district could be approved by the end of November by the Mendota City Council. In a published summary, the city noted that they intend to use the TIF to promote commercial, retail, and residential development.
