Three At Large After Fraud at Multiple Casey’s

WATERMAN – A credit card coding machine was found during a traffic stop in DeKalb County last month and three people are being sought by police after multiple fraud purchases in three counties.  In a release from the DeKalb County  Sheriff’s Office, an investigation began in June after they received a complaint of fraud at a Casey’s in Waterman.  Employees reported that suspects had made purchases with multiple cards, some of which were declined.  Sheriff’s Deputies stopped the vehicle and after a search found a laptop, multiple gift cards and multiple purported items from fraudulent purchases.   The occupants were released pending further investigation.   Deputies determined that purchases made in Casey’s in Maple Park, DeKalb, Waterman, Somonauk, Leland and Plano were allegedly fraudulent, with over 41 reported victims.  Warrants were issued for three of the four suspects, as one individual being sought, 22-year-old Steven M Bennett of Chicago was already in custody by the Chicago Police.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott, they are seeking information on the whereabouts of 28-year-old Eric J. Nolan, 26-year-old Brandon M. Riley and 28-year-old Lacola D. Williams.  Charges are pending in LaSalle, Kane and Kendall Counties on multiple offenses, including Possession of Machinery Designed to Reproduce Credit Cards, Unlawful Use of a Credit Card and Counterfeited Cards.  Anyone with any information is asked to contact their local law enforcement.
