Tennessee man identified in fatal Granville crash

GRANVILLE – A Tennessee man has been identified after being involved in a fatal vehicle crash in Putnam County on Friday.  According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Ryan C. Lunger of Memphis, Tennessee is deceased after his involvement in a vehicle vs. semi-truck accident near Granville. Authorities say, just before 4 a.m. on Friday, they responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Illinois Highway 71 and Illinois Highway 89 near Granville. Police say a vehicle was traveling northbound on 89 and reportedly failed to stop at the intersection and struck the trailer of a semi-truck traveling westbound on 71. The accident remains under investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, The Illinois State Police and the Putnam County Death Investigator.
