WYANET – A teenager is in stable condition after falling from a trestle bridge near Wyanet on Sunday. The Bureau County Sheriff’s Department says the 16-year-old fell while avoiding an on-coming train between lock 21 and lock 19, west of Wyanet. Police say life-saving measures were performed at the scene by a witness, then transported to an area hospital and later life-flighted to Peoria for further treatment. On Tuesday Lt. Rebecca Gosch says the teenager is in stable condition.
