MENDOTA – With no meetings since the failed negotiation session on Saturday, students at the three District 289 Schools in Mendota remain out of class for the fifth straight day. Wednesday was speculated to be the next day both sides were to come together to try to hammer out a contract that would return the teachers to the classrooms, but as of Tuesday morning a time nor a location had been settled. The teachers went on strike on October 16th after last minute contract negotiations broke down. They have been without a contract since before the start of the school year.
