Synthetic Pot Injuries Still Rising

OTTAWA – Area Health Departments are still warning users to not take drugs known as synthetic cannabinoids. This is after the Illinois Department of Public Health has said the number of those injured by them has approached 100, and at least two have died.

These products are also known as herbal or liquid incense and have brand names such as K2, Spice, Black Mamba, Bombay Blue, Genie, and Zohai, but may be packaged under other brand names also.
Those affected have experienced severe bleeding, such as coughing up blood, blood in the urine, severe bloody nose, and/or bleeding gums, after using synthetic cannabinoids that according to authorities were mixed with an anticoagulant found in common rat poison.
