Suspicious Fire Investigation Continues

MENDOTA – The investigation continues into the fire on May 26th in the 700 block of Illinois Avenue. Mendota Police Chief Greg Kellen said that they have reviewed what surveillance footage they have and interviewed many who were in the area the morning they say the fire was started, but have not come up with anything solid that would lead to an arrest. He indicated they believe this is a singular event, and have increased patrols in the area. Crimestoppers have also announced a $1,000 award for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.
