STREATOR – The city of Streator is participating in a new opioid settlement against pharmaceutical distributors including Teva, Allergan, CVS, Walmart, and Walgreens. According to the Edelson Law Firm, the new settlements are similar to the prior opioid settlement agreements, which the city opted into last year with other pharmaceutical distributors. The latest round of national opioid settlements was announced in February and total over $20 billion to resolve litigation brought by states and local subdivisions. The participation was approved at the city’s last council meeting.
