STREATOR – The city of Streator will be starting up a clean-up campaign. City Manager Dave Plyman announced the “Clean-Up Streator” Campaign at Wednesday’s city council meeting. The campaign’s mission is to make special efforts to enforce maintenance around the city, including property inspections. The city will be on the lookout for properties that have trash in their yards, vehicles with no registration or unfit to drive, vacant properties, and buildings with structural issues. Plyman says warnings and citations will be issued for property maintenance violations. Mayor Jimmie Lansford encouraged the city to set the tone for the campaign in taking care of any outstanding issues that the city might have. The campaign will be formally announced with more details via social media.
