MENDOTA – A teen is facing a number of charges after a pursuit in Mendota Wednesday night. In a press release Friday the Mendota Police Department say that just before midnight Wednesday they observed a vehicle with four occupants leaving a park after hours. When an officer attempted to stop the vehicle they allegedly began to flee and started a high speed pursuit inside and outside of the Mendota city limits that lasted about forty minutes. LaSalle County Sheriff’s Deputies, Lee County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Illinois State Police used stop sticks to disable the vehicle on US-251 just south of Mendota and detained the four occupants. The driver, a 15-year-old was charged with Aggravated fleeing, no valid drivers license, reckless driving, and four other moving violations.
