Sheriff’s Office: Bureau County teen dies after altercation with another teen in Wyanet

WYANET – A teen is dead after an altercation in Bureau County. According to Bureau County Sheriff James Reed an altercation occurred in Wyanet between two 15-year-old male teens from Wyanet near the area of South King Street and East Front Street on Saturday around 12:30 PM. Authorities say the victim was transported to an area hospital then transferred to Peoria, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day. The incident is still under investigation by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office and Peoria County Coroner’s Office.
