MENDOTA – Infrastructure work is being planned for Illinois Avenue in Mendota. At Monday night’s city council meeting, Alderman Bill Hunt reported that sewer work will be done in addition to Illinois Avenue’s beautification project. The city will install new sewer lining, a manhole at the end of the sanitary sewer, storm sewer repairs and replace the led service lines connecting the water main. The beautification project is estimated slightly over $350,000, not including street work. Ground breaking will begin later this spring.
