Service disruptions successful for those who owe the city of Peru

By: Chiara Coetzee

PERU – City Clerk Dave Bartley says implementing service disruption for those who have delinquent utility bills is working. Bartley gave an update to the council on the once nearly $70,000 owed by Peru residents back in the spring. Since then, that number dwindled to around $45,000 in June and now the city is down to just over $15,000 owed.

The city’s disrupted services are limited to 30 minutes of power and then 30 minutes without power for 24 hours.
