LASALLE – A two semi truck trailer accident occurred in LaSalle on Tuesday. According to Illinois State Police, they the LaSalle Police Department, LaSalle Fire Department, Utica Fire and EMS as well as the Illinois Department of Transportation all assisted in a semi truck trailer accident on Interstate 80 in LaSalle. According to the Illinois State Police, unit 1, a 52-year-old man from Wisconsin, was heading north bound on I-39, drove onto the I-80 eastbound exit ramp, when he drove into the path of unit 2, another semi driven by a 57-year-old man from Canada. Police say unit 2 tried to avoid being struck, but was side swiped by the other semi and reportedly ended up in the center median. Authorities say both drivers were unharmed and refused treatment at the scene. Illinois State Police says all roads are cleared and unit 1 was issued a citation for improper lane usage.
