Search Suspended for Wanted Man

SANDWICH – The Sandwich Police Department suspended a search for a wanted man.
According to Sandwich Police, they were called at 1:30 p.m. by an off-duty Dekalb Deputy who observed a subject known as Richard Hall, supposedly driving a white van west bound on U.S Route 34. The Deputy advised that he was aware Hall’s driver license was revoked and that there was an active arrest warrant for Hall. Police say, the Deputy followed the vehicle to the 1600 block of Fairside where the vehicle was parked. According to Sandwich Police, a male suspect was supposedly observed in the garage of the residence and apparently identified himself as Richard Hall. Police say Hall was advised of the arrest warrant, and that he was going to be placed under arrest. Police say, hall allegedly struck a Sandwich Police Officer, ensuing a foot pursuit. According to Dekalb Sheriff’s and Somonauk Police, a perimeter was established to search for Hall.
During the search members of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team Task Force, the Plano Police Department and the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the pursuit.
Authorities say he was not located and the search was terminated at 7:30 p.m. The Dekalb County States Attorney’s Office approved Sandwich Police Departments request for Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Resiting a Peace officer charged be filed against Hall.
