Rev. Jackson speaks in Peru at Day march

PERU – Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. spoke to a crowd of hundreds gathered in Peru Tuesday at a rally to raise awareness about the investigation into the death of an ISU student whose body was discovered in the Illinois River.  Carmen Bolden Day also spoke to the crowd at two stops, one in front of the Peru Police Department, and another near the Illinois River on Water Street where the body of her 25-year-old son Jalani Day was found in September.  The event came just one day after the LaSalle County Coroner announced he believed the cause of death to be drowning.  Bolden Day pleaded for anyone with any information as to the events that led to her son’s death to come forward.
